An accident leads to the discovery of a mysterious machine that has rested hidden deep underground for millennia. The machine awakens to begin issuing a series of increasingly alarming, if minor, omens. The omens turn out to be astonishingly accurate, and ever more ominous. As Zedd tries to figure out how to destroy the sinister device, the machine issues a cataclysmic omen involving Richard and Kahlan, foretelling an impending event beyond anyone's ability to stop. As catastrophe approaches, the machine then reveals that it is within its power to withdraw the omen... in exchange for an impossible demand.

FAITH OF THE FALLEN took The Sword of Truth into a new decade and onto new heights of intense, thoughtful and meaningful fantasy while never losing sight of the need to tell a compelling and sweeping story. THE PILLARS OF CREATION continues that progression and is written so that new readers to the series can plunge into the richness of his world. Terry Goodkind investigates new depths in his characters and is working to change fantasy and to make The Sword of Truth the dominant fantasy series of the first decade of the new millennium. The new novel introduces a new character, Jennsen, and takes Richard and Kahlan to the ends of the earth as they attempts to track down an unstoppable demon before it kills them and lays waste to the world.

Wizard's First Rule marks the debut of a new fantasy writer. Truly epic in scope and filled with burning intensity, it is the story of Richard Cypher, a modest woodsman in a world achingly beautiful, alive with the joys of nature: a world the reader comes to love as fiercely as do Richard and those around him. Though a mere woodsman, he is the one destined to battle the ultimate adversary — Darken Rahl, an evil image who bids to destroy all that Richard holds good and beautiful, dooming him and the rest of the people of Westland to a living Hell of subjugation and degradation.
