When dogs begin dying under mysterious circumstances, a man is found dead in an open grave, and a sudden storm nearly drowns a group of students, some of the locals are convinced that the town of Smallville has been cursed by a suspected witch, whose long-dormant tomb was recently disturbed. And when not even an exorcism can lift the cloud of terror from the town, Clark becomes involved — and comes face to face with the one thing that not even he can overpower.
